Stratford

We had a wonderful stay at the Stratford Inn. Our host was warm and welcoming. We had a marvelous breakfast every morning, which always included a dish with the local blue berries. There was a tray of fresh baked cookies every day in the foyer. Anne was also very helpful with suggestions for our day trips and the local restaurants. The Stratford also offered free parking. We did not have to move the car as we were close to town. Maine is a beautiful state and we are planning on a return trip.

We had a lovely stay at Stratfod B&B in downtown Bar Harbor. They accommodated us just a week before our arrival when another Inn lost our reservation. So we had to split our stay in two rooms, but that gave us the opportunity to stay in both a Suite and a large King bed room. Rooms were spacious, but bathrooms were small, which was the only downside (though to be expected in an older property, as most in town are). |The Innkeeper, Ann, was fabulous. Very kind and had lots of great tips and suggestions. The daily homemade breakfasts were huge and filling! Ann even packed us a to-go breakfast for our early whale watching excursion. |We were just a few blocks and walking distance from everywhere we wanted to go in downtown Bar Harbor. So location was a huge plus!

My wife and I stayed at the Stratford B&B i Bar Harbor for 4 nights in June 2025. The stay was 100% enjoyable. The location is within walking distance of EVERYTHING in Bar Harbor. Our room was excellent - bed, bedding, pillows were all very comfortable, and the AC worked perfectly to cool the room to our preferred temp. Breakfast each morning was delicious, with multiple options. Anne, the cook of the house, joined us for conversation each morning after breakfast was served. A star of the stay was Layne, the concierge/desk staff, who was super-friendly, chatted with us every day, and gave us spot-on suggestions for things to do and places to eat. Coffee is available starting at 7AM every morning, and there is a 5PM wine and cheese social. We'd definitely stay at the Stratford again

You cannot beat this location, and what a beautiful breakfast! European sized bathroom is the only downside if you really want a large bathroom, it didn’t bother us. So quiet, so clean, and such an easy walk to all the restaurants, highly recommend.

From the beginning of planning our trip to the minute we left their charming and comfortable B&B, Anne and Bob were extremely helpful. The accommodations were very comfortable and the furnishings were beautiful and of museum quality! The bathrooms are tiny, but the shower was instantly hot with nice pressure which is key! The location is also very nice-close to town but not in the thick of it! Anne is a native and very knowledgeable about great places to eat and drink and things to do and hikes to recommend in Acadia National Park as well as other places of interest around the island. Bob even drove an hour to retrieve us when our rental car key was lost at a very rural town’s restaurant and we had no way of getting back to Stratford! I can’t say enough nice things about Stratford and Anne
