Saltair Inn Waterfront B&B

Matt and Kristi are wonderful hosts. Their home is beautiful, comfortable and welcoming. The location is within walking distance to all the main street activities but far enough removed to enjoy a peaceful stay. Their home is right on the water, many lovely spots to sit and take in the view. The proximity to the sand bar allows for easy access to Bar Island at low tide, a must do experience! Easy access by car to Acadia. Kristi’s morning breakfast rivals any place on the island. Both Matt and Kristi were happy to answer our many questions and give recommendations. We enjoyed our 3 night stay and will stay here again if we make it back to Bar Harbor.

The Saltair is a most wonderful place. The home is so comfortable and Matt and Kristi are great hosts. Kristi makes a delicious breakfast. The backyard overlooking the ocean is relaxing with a fire pit and comfy Adirondack chairs in which to stargaze at night. The location can’t be beat as Arcadia is a five minute drive, downtown Bar Harbor is three blocks away and the famous sandbar is a walk along the beach to reach. We loved our stay at The Saltair and would love to return some day.

Beautiful Inn w/ stunning water views. Calming atmosphere w/ wonderful rooms, truly gracious hosts whom serve homemade breakfasts & delicious afternoon baked snacks . Relaxing deck and grounds with Adirondack chairs set throughout. Excellent location; park your car once and walk to all the shops, tours & restuarants. Had the charming Acadia Suite with two fireplaces, a patio and gorgeous waterviews from it's living room. True bonus is that you can walk onto beach from property the short distance to Bar Island during low tide, finding shells and beautiful rocks.

During our summer trip to Maine, we were mostly based in Portland, but are so glad we planned for two days and one night in Bar Harbor. Saltair Inn was an incredibly perfect landing spot during our short time there, and we loved all it had to offer. It’s steps away from downtown’s shops and restaurants, but set back enough to enjoy some peace and quiet, and the water views are spectacular. Our room was lovely and had everything we could ever want! ||Our one morning at the B&B featured a DELICIOUS breakfast which we enjoyed on the back patio overlooking the bay - I can still taste the blueberry pancakes! Matt and Kristi were gracious hosts and we really enjoyed our conversation with them later that morning when they shared funny stories and provided us helpful sightseeing tips for our drive

The most perfect stay! We stayed at Saltair Inn for 5 nights as an extra-long Labor Day weekend. The location is perfect, less than a 10 minute walk to Main Street (and more importantly - CJ's ice cream). Also has a parking area for guests which is great.||We were in the Sedgwick Room which was cozy but perfect, and a great value. Waking up every day to homemade breakfast by Matt and Kristi was definitely a highlight, as were their amazing Bar Harbour/Acadia recommendations. But the cherry on top was the beach behind the inn, that made the perfect setting for us to get engaged!!!||Saltair Inn was a more than perfect stay, and now holds a very special place in our hearts!
