Ropewalk Restaurant - Chincoteague

I love all the pretty murals outside and inside this restaurant! It has a great ocean view! It was very clean, and the staff was very friendly. My fried cod and waffle fries were delicious! This is a historic building and it gives really interesting information on the menu about it. My partner loved his crab and artichoke dip. They had Keylime pie, but I didn’t get it (THIS time!). One of my kiddos had macaroni and cheese and it was the Kraft kind so that made his taste buds very happy! Their food came out on frisbees!

Our waitress Lauren was awesome! Very nice & helpful. The atmosphere was nice & clean. We ordered two crushers, crab egg rolls & tacos they were all just right

Great food. Large portions. Our iced tea was served in pitchers! Sitting outside watching the sunset was wonderful. We liked it so much we came back the following evening!

I just want to say that Lexi was amazingly. It is hard to find good people in today’s world. She is one of the few. Food was amazing service was top notch. Lexi made you feel like family. It’s funny because when we first walked in the hostess immediately made a comment about my dog who is a service dog he has a leash that identifies him. You could tell that it kind of got under her skin and then when I asked to sit outside in the sand area to watch the sunset she told me that there wasn’t enough weight staff took accommodate that… mind you the reason I chose this restaurant was because of being able to watch the sunset outdoors. Stopped in twice as located next to our hotel. First night, very good service and food was good. Smoked chicken wings were on HH and draft beer was ice cold. Portabella Mushroom Tacos were exceptional! On 2nd visit, draft beer was warm, not ice cold as day before and Tacos were dry and lacking sauce. Advertised HH 1/2 price Calamari and $1 per shuck Oysters on half shell were not available. Out-of-stock they said. Let's see, how does this happen on Chincoteague Island with no oysters available? VERY DISAPPOINTED. RETURNED in SEP 2025 during HH and raw "$1 per shuck" Oysters were FANTASTIC and crab dip was delicious. VERY HAPPY!
