Chincoteague Island Library

A very charming little library with an amazing staff! Our daughter wanted to stop in and look at the children’s section of books. She loved the atmosphere and picked a quick little story to read. The librarians gave her a nice coloring book and told us about the library while our daughter happily read her story! A cute place worth checking out while visiting downtown.

Amazing little place, beautiful inside. Run by wonderful volunteers and very well kept up! The oldest commercial building on the island, relocated downtown a few decades ago. Definitely stop by and make a donation to keep this gem open!

Great library! Visited during pony swim week.

beautiful library, and the addtion (added in 2010) was well designed and looks beautiful. this library has a childrens area, a few tables/chairs and some chairs in the upstairs portion. so thankful we have this library on chincoteague. it's in the eastern shore system, so if you want any book in the eastern shore library system you can arrange for it to be sent up here to chincoteague, so you don't have to ride to parksley. a very valuable service and it's all free, however, i encourage everyone to donate books/money to the library. it's a great service for all of us. love our library.

Very cute and charming little library. Worth a visit and has a few odds and ends for sale.
