Olinger House Bed and Breakfast

Wow - what an amazing stay! Upon entering Olinger House, the warm glow of the holiday lights and the lovely scent provided an elevated, just-like-home comfort and feel. Each room of the bed and breakfast was a uniquely themed, thoughtfully decorated large and welcoming space (each with a private bathroom). The daily breakfast was a delicious wakeup call and the living room and dining area allowed space to relax and meet the other guests. It was a quick walk to the restaurants and shops of Gettysburg and only a short drive for skiing. And, when the snow came later in our stay, it was truly a winter wonderland. We chose Olinger House based on location and reviews. From the time we inquired about a reservation, to check in and throughout our stay, we continued to be impressed with this gem of a B & B. The owner Brad, has filled the home with furniture, photos, housewares, and memorabilia reminiscent of the Civil War era. It feels as though you’ve walked into history but with modern conveniences and warm hospitality. Each room is well appointed with everything you need for a restful stay. There are comfortable common areas and a beautiful outdoor patio. Our new favorite bed and breakfast. The house is simply charming, decorated nicely but most importantly when you enter the home you feel like you belong there. We were welcomed by the sweetest, calmest dog. The owner was very careful about the dogs being in our space but we assured him the puppies made us feel at home. Brad was very friendly, informative and made our stay comfortable. Chatting with him was like talking to family member. Breakfast was delightful and thoughtful. Besides a hot breakfast there was so many grab and go options. There was no way we could sample it all but we appreciated his thoughtfulness. Brad, Gabe, Kane & Max (🐾) were the most generous, warm and welcoming hosts. The Olinger House is a must stay if you want a cozy, personalized, home away from home experience in Gettysburg. The rooms are meticulously decorated, clean and spacious–each equipped with their own private bathroom. Breakfast each day was delicious and filling. During our stay we were able to easily explore Gettysburg and go skiing at Liberty Mountain (15 min drive away). The only problem we had was that we never wanted to leave! ❤️

Our stay at Olinger House B&B was perfect! Brad was fantastic with communication from the start and made sure everything went smoothly. The house is beautiful—spotlessly clean, full of historic charm with modern comfort. The full breakfast on the weekend was delicious, and their dog Kane stole our hearts. The location is also excellent—very walkable to many of Gettysburg’s shops, restaurants, and attractions. Brad and Gabe gave great recommendations, offered great hospitality—we were sad to leave, and we’ll definitely be back!
