Lee and Swethlana are exceptional hosts—warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. Since I was traveling alone, they thoughtfully checked in on me, which made me feel especially welcome. Aloha Guest House is an absolute gem. We stayed here for several days over Christmas and loved every minute of our stay. Lee and Svetlana have put so much care and effort into the guest house, and the result is a bnb that blends a homey coziness with a botanic, adventurous spirit. The attention to detail with amenities, cleanliness, and decor, was all very strong. Best part, though, was the breakfast - we literally couldn’t wait to wake up and eat. Fantastic stay with Lee and Svetlana and the other guests joining for daily breakfast and conversation (at 8A sharp). The breakfast is truly a highlight with 100% organic Kona coffee, Svetlana's gourmet farm-to-table creations, and wide array of local fruit, much of it from their trees. Convenient location as long as you can handle the bumps up/down the road (don't be afraid... just get an AWD). The cozy Halawai/Horizon room has spectacular views from the room and adjacent lanai, where we at our dinners. We appreciated the in-room fridge and small common area microwave, dishes, and sink. Highly recommend to anyone with an adventurous spirit who prefers a more peaceful option to hotels.

A beautiful, peaceful, quiet setting with excellent views of the coastline and ocean. Hosts offer delicious breakfast with homegrown fruit and eggs. The rooms are very clean and well organized. |Since so many visitors to the Big Island rent Jeeps or other SUVs, they might as well use them on a challenging road such as the climb up to the Aloha Guest House from the Mamalohoa Highway. Even the small softroader such as the Jeep Compass or Hyundai Kona is up to the task.

You'll need an SUV and a little extra time to reach this place, but the spectacular views and hospitality are totally worth it. We returned in Dec 2025 for our second stay and it was even more fun than the first time we stayed 10 years ago. Super attentive hosts provide restaurant recs, activity recs, fun breakfast conversations, and anything else you need. The first morning's breakfast included the best passion fruit ive ever eaten (and I've lived in the tropics). They have fruit trees, a rainwater catch system, super happy chickens that roam the property and provide eggs for the breakfasts, and the delicious yogurt is also homemade. The final breakfast of our stay was an omelette with fresh chicken eggs filled with goat cheese and sorel, which was absolutely to die for! We're vegetarian
