Tommy's Folly Café

One of my favorite places to get a great coffee or a giant Biscotti in Cape My. Located inside the historic Congress Hall in Cape May, the location is prime and overlooks the front lawn and beach. There is air conditioned or heated seating indoors, and rocking chairs, benches and small tables outside. My favorite drink is the Mocha Latte although the regular coffee is also excellent. They offer a variety of baked goods, sandwiches and salads, all delicious, as well as soft drinks and other items a traveler might require. Opposite of the coffee bar is an Ice Cream Bar. The service here is in keeping with the Congress Hall Hotel standards, outstanding! I stopped into Tommy’s Folly Café today and had such a great experience. I ordered an iced macchiato latte and a chocolate croissant, everything was fresh and really tasty. The coffee was made well and the food came out quickly. The staff were welcoming and organized, which made the whole experience easy and stress-free. Even though it’s counter service, they still make you feel taken care of. The café itself is bright, comfortable, and has a nice energy—whether you’re grabbing something to go or hanging out for a bit. I highly recommend!

I had a wonderful experience at Tommy’s Folly Café thanks to Gabrielle, the manager. She was helpful, attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly. It’s clear she takes a lot of pride in her job, she goes above and beyond to make sure guests feel taken care of and that the café is well managed. Her professionalism and dedication truly stood out during my visit.

Two notes: The hostess at the blue pig needs personality training. Second note a grilled cheese sandwich advertising bacon and artichoke should probably have more meat to it than one thin piece of bacon cut in half and one grilled artichoke head with the leaves peeled off and spread across the American cheese. Picture attached. The fruit offered included a brown banana or an equally unappetizing looking orange. Chips are plain potato chips with no choices. This hotel reminds me of the perfect example of forgetting you need to Continue to serve your customers. This type of sandwich is unacceptable.

I’ve been going for years and I will say it hurts to leave this review but it’s been a couple times now. I understand it’s a coffee shop, but that being said I m not a coffee person so when I got their iced tea I was so happy, refreshing and just right. I didn’t mind the price because it was always spot on. I guess those days are over twice now in the span of two weeks I’ve gotten the worst iced tea. I’m okay not having lemon no problem Starbucks hasn’t got lemon either but let me start the first one the tea was off color like it had cream in it. I actually had to ask if it was tea they assured me and said something about changing recipe which was odd. I dipped it and thought they had made it using the coffee machine. So that time my wife took it back and got our money back.now I have it s
