The Velveteen Cocktail Lounge

Loved this little bar. The owner said her inspiration came from just finding items in a thrift store. It jas an artist meow wolf type of feel. The drinks are pretty yummy too.

One of the most unique, quirky atmosphere's of anywhere in Salida. Be sure to check it out. For me the ideal time would be in the evening when the red lighting adds that extra touch of magic to the interior. I felt like I was in a family member's home but that really eccentric family member who decorates with the most random yet cool items. We went on a chiller night and the heater in the back room was warming the space oh, so nicely making it quite inviting. Food isn't served here but is outside at the food truck in the courtyard. The drink list is fun and varied. Reminds me of the world famous bars seen in Budapest, Hungary. A+ for ambience and interior decoration!

This place used to be something special, but the vibe seems to have shifted drastically recently. Not sure whats up🤷‍♀️.

Don't try to book a show with this place. They canceled on my touring band last minute with hardly any explanation and cost us hundreds of dollars. We can't rebook a show with such short notice and they didn't offer to give us any of the guarantee they had promised. Super tough as a DIY touring band... These guys don't support the arts.
