The Ellison Restaurant

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the Ellison Lounge during the Shoreline Restaurant's winter residency. The atmosphere is cozy. My husband had a gin martini and I had a vodka martini and both were outstanding. For our meals, we had chicken and waffles and the wild mushroom chicken. Both were perfect. We would highly recommend this restaurant for a special dinner.

Revamped motel but kept retro feel. Very clean. Lovely back yard w/chairs, volleyball net and front has lovely view of bay. Bed was very comfortable. Bedsheets weren't fitted so kept coming out and caused wrinkles i didn't like. No coffeepot but had good coffee @front desk-also a microwave. Only have a mini fridge in room- but it has a separate freezer if you have ice packs. Went to adjoining lounge- very nice-good drinks. Had apps-- wings,spinach and artichoke dip w/ pita chips- chips needed to be less crispy,deviled eggs- all were great! Staff was very friendly. Had an enjoyable time.

We stopped with our family of 5 for cocktails on a whim. It was by far the best experience of the Door County trip! The cocktails were fantastic, the bartender was entertaining, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting! We have already told other friends that they need to check this spot out on their Door County vacations. We will for sure be returning! Thank you for a great experience!

My mother and I really enjoyed our visit! The people who run it are very kind and friendly. The room was clean, and it had a nice view of Ellison Bay. I enjoyed walking over to the beach/park several times during our stay! Great place! Can't wait to come back.

Ellison Bay Inn and Lounge is a great place to stay in upper Door County. Quiet area with nearby, interesting places to visit and some very good eateries nearby. As I mentioned to Gerald, one of the owners, my one complaint was the toilets --that are without lids. The bathrooms are fine bur small. Yet when we stayed there -I lived in fear that my electric toothbrush would accidentally fall into the commode! Hopefully Gerald will add toilet seat lids and we can visit this beautiful inn -without fearing the open toilets. Again a fine place to stay in upper Door County -imo.
