Spike's Dairy Bar

We stopped by Spike’s Dairy Bar and absolutely loved the ice cream! I had a cup of the salted caramel and my wife got it in a cone—we both agreed it was some of the best we’ve had in a long time. Creamy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The service was nothing special, but the ice cream made it worth the visit. We’ll definitely be back!

We LOVE Spike’s Dairy Bar whenever we come to Southport! Obviously get some delicious ice cream, but not many may know their hot dogs is where it’s at! From plain ‘naked dogs’ to fully loaded chili dogs, you will leave with a full belly! This place also has plenty of street parking and nice shady bench tables to sit at.

Spike’s Dairy Bar is a charming walk-up ice cream stand. The gentleman who took our order was incredibly friendly and enthusiastic—it was clear he genuinely loves Spike’s! We tried the cherry almond chocolate chip swirl flavor, which was bursting with flavor and had a wonderfully creamy texture. We also ordered a hazelnut spread milkshake, which was decent but could use a bit of refinement. Still, the creaminess of their ice cream really stood out and made the visit worthwhile. If you’re in the mood for a cool, sweet treat on a hot day, Spike’s Dairy Bar is a solid choice. We’ll definitely be back for more! To those about to nosh, we salute you!

Such good ice cream. I have never had any like it. So good. Definitely stop here. Fast friendly service. Nice outside seating. White pleasant.
