Shaka's Beach Bar & Grill

We had a great experience at Shaka’s in the Outer Banks. The atmosphere is fun and laid-back, lively without feeling overwhelming. I ordered the Huli Huli chicken and my wife had the Caribbean short ribs, and both were absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. The flavors were bold without being overpowering and the portions were very satisfying, you can tell the kitchen really cares about execution. We started with the she-crab soup which was the only thing that didn’t quite stand out, just a little on the mild side, but still enjoyable. The service was friendly and attentive, drinks stayed cold, and the food came out hot and fresh. Overall a really solid meal and a place we’d gladly return to next time we’re in OBX.

Amazing!!!!! Highly recommend! Fun drinks! Creative appetizers! Lots of choices! Great kid’s menu! For appetizers, the cheese curds were SOOO GOOD! For food, I got the crab legs and those were amazing as well! Kids were happy with the chicken strips (huge portion!!) and pizza! The dirty bird sandwich was ginormous! I didn’t taste that, but I heard it was delicious! Good prices! The service was amazing. Ellie was so attentive. Everything was decked out for Christmas. All around great spot!

Great food, chill place open in the winter. Our waitress Brooke was extremely personable and had great service. Had the crab dip, bang bang shrimp and short rib grilled cheese. It was all delicious. They also had great Christmas decorations. Had a pumkintini...OMG it was pumpkin perfection! Been a few times now and they are always consistent. Thanks for a great restaurant!

I like the place a lot, but I had a family sitting in the booth behind me who just let kids scream and kick, so I'll say up front my review is a bit biased. The food was good. I have to say the Cuban sandwich was a bit on the dry side. The Cheesecake egg rolls were awesome. The service was friendly and attentive. I'll definitely go back.

First time here and it was awesome. Food was excellent, staff was so helpful and friendly. We got the cheese curds, the tuna ahi tower and the big wave burger. Everything was delicious and presented beautifully. Our server, Emily, did an excellent job taking care of us. Highly recommend this place!
