I received a coupon in the mail for a free appetizer with an entree purchase. Camden our waitress was warm friendly ensured we read the fine print on the coupon to prevent any surprises later. She was a great server shared some of the history of the place answered all our questions very attentive. The place was clean had a quiet atmosphere and good menu. We had the chicken nachos for the appetizer, that could have been a meal by itself, the cheese sauce seemed to be homemade. My wife ordered the Chesapeake chicken with baked potato and crispy brussels sprouts; I got the shrimp Po’boy and upgraded to onion rings. The chicken was a nice portion, and the Po’boy was a legit 12-inch sandwich. My wife only sampled a little of the chick and sprouts and I had two bites of the sandwich and some of

We had the bacon deviled eggs as a starter and hamburgers with baked potatoes as the sides. The restaurant is nicely chilled with AC. The food was quite tasty, and the server kept drinks refilled. Brought out extra napkins without being prompted - always appreciated. Yes, the tavern is hidden off the main road, but it's worth looking for it.

We really enjoyed our visit to Rumsey Tavern. It is located in the old hotel, which is being converted to apartments....a little odd entering and walking down a long hall. Once inside its bright, clean and spacious. Service is great, nice menu options, good portion sizes. I didnt love the crabcakes but they were decent. My husband had the primerib which was cooked nicely. We will stop in again My rating rationale +1 Service +.5 Food~Taste/flavor/quality +1 Presentation +1 Atmosphere/vibe +1 Value

Food took forever, apparently the ticket got lost or something, but others seemed to get their food fast and once they figured it out, we got our food quick. Main food tasted ok, but nothing too special. The carrot cake - i wouldn't call carrot... more like a pineapple applesauce cake with a smattering of carrots. It was kind of playdoh like. Beignets were raw, and not beignets- more like weird dough balls. Waiter was nice and did a decent job and obviously felt bad for the problems. It's back a long hall in the back of a hotel, so it's a little odd to get to.

This was our first time visiting the Rumsey Tavern. It's part of a former hotel and soon to be apartments. They are currently going through the conversion process. Getting to the tavern is rather odd, you have to walk down a hall and around a corner. Once inside, it's inviting and comfortable. TVs are mounted around the room showing sports. Shepherd University sports memorabilia decorate the walls. Everything was clean and service was responsive. The food was pretty good and prices were reasonable. The Hangover Burger was delicious. A good size, with fries as the side. The shrimp po'boy was decent, but definitely could have used more sauce. They also have a wide variety of alcoholic mixed drinks and beers on tap. We'll definitely be back because their menu is rather extensive.
