Sundogs Bed and Breakfast

Our weekend at Sundogs B & B was heaven for my husband, our best 4-footed friend, and me. The natural beauty & peace of the 46 acre property with miles of beautifully maintained walking trails , the kindness & friendliness of the hosts, the beautiful breakfasts with our happy pup beside us, being an easy drive away from historical Shepherdstown and Sharpsburg, excellent local brew pub (Potomac Ridge), and first-rate winery in a gorgeous old dairy barn (Antietam Creek) gave the three of us the perfect break from the stresses & noise of the city. We look forward to our next stay. Highly recommend!

We brought our pup along for an anniversary getaway—perfect, lowkey weekend. The hosts were so kind and accommodating. The breakfast was better than I could have even imagined. The house itself is spacious, and the surrounding grounds are beautiful. Only a 10ish minute drive into downtown (which is also adorable). I cannot wait to come back here!

Wow! What a wonderful B & B in a beautifully secluded and tranquil setting, Into wildlife, birds, butterflies,deer etc., this is the place to be. Peggy, wife of Dave our hosts, told me that they built this place for the animals and is is plain to see just how true that is. Lots of paths and gardens for all the wildlife. Not so far from cultural, history, hiking and shopping experiences. So bring your pets and enjoy a most hospitable stay. Also Dave makes an amazing breakfast served by his lovely wife, Peggy. Two lovely hosts who will make you feel so welcomed and the accommodations so relaxing and comfortable.||Thanks to Peggy and Dave for providing us with a perfect weekend getaway. We shall return!

THE most hidden gem of ALL hidden gems. This was the cleanest dog friendly lodging I’ve EVER experienced. Hospitality, food, gardens, grounds — every single thing was 5 stars. It was our first family road trip with our new pup (she’s a 2.5 year old Westie) and we can’t wait to go back. 40+ acres of trails, wrap around porch, incredible sunrise, no light pollution so I not only saw a shooting star but the Milky Way, as well! It’s the perfect place to stay and check out the eastern panhandle of WV — Harper’s Ferry, Shepherdstown, and Charlestown. I don’t have a single sliver of constructive criticism!

This is a fantastic place. The owners are friendly and helpful, the rooms are beautifully appointed, and the gardens that surround the place are beautiful. The property is a few minutes' drive outside of Shepherdstown, in a quiet scenic setting. My wife and I spent a few days there in October 2025, and we had a delightful stay. We will definitely be going back.
