Pupuseria Kent Island

We just enjoyed our first dine-in meal at Kent Island Pupuseria, and it was such a pleasure to finally sit down and explore more of the menu. In the past, I’ve only ordered carryout, and I’ve always been completely pleased with the food. Our dining in experience confirmed why we will continue to keep coming back. This is a family-owned, authentic Salvadoran/Mexican restaurant, and it’s obvious they are working with whole, fresh ingredients. Everything appears to be made from scratch, and you can truly taste the difference. I’ve also noticed on many visits that the restaurant is frequented by people from Central America, which is always a great sign of authenticity. For the prices we paid at two seafood restaurants ($360), this place can't be beat. I always ate pupusas when I lived in DC 20 years ago. Their side of cabbage is not as plentiful and good as the ones I have had before. My husband loved his chorizo bowl and son loved the chicaronnes platter. Think we paid $35.

Came in for Taco Tuesday and was not disappointed. It was easy enough to get a table and the service was quick. We ordered 12 tacos (lengua, bistek, barbacoa) and some pupusas for the kids. Spoke with the hostess and she mentioned they may bring back mollejas and tripas during the summer. Pretty excited for that.

I have been coming here since 2017 and their food is always good. It’s a family own business. Mexican/el Salvadoran family. They are great people. You can eat el Salvadorian food and Mexican here. You won’t go wrong

Wonderful. NOW expanded to Chestertown!! Finally a pupuseria for Kent County!!! How do you know if it’s authentic and good. Go at lunch and see the line of Latin workers who are satisfied and proud to support a great locally owned business. Great location!!
