Mountain Social deeply cares about our culinary experience! My husband had the gnocchi. To die for. I had the cod. Not so good. It was a bit “off” - not flakey and buttery like a good cod, and the rice noodles (albeit perfectly al dente) were broken just short enough to not be twirlable on the fork. What are two culinary travelers to do? Of course inform our server. She apologized and then voila the manager popped over too. They gave us the most delectable blueberry cobbler this side of the Mississippi. This place is the BEST. We will be back. Anyone reading this within driving distance of Bethel needs to make a pilgrimage too.

Happy to stumble upon this hidden gem near Sunday River. The restaurant had recently won a local competition called the best pour award so I had to get a cocktail. I chose the White Rabbit since it’s not too often you see carrot used in a drink. It had a good balance of sake, carrot and nutmeg. Benedictine rounded out the flavor profile. I liked that aquafaba (the water from chickpeas) was used for the foam as opposed to egg whites. The food was on point too. Seafood chowder had a nice texture with moderate amount of tender scallops and whitefish. It was more peppery than others. Kale and Brussels was well dressed and the miso stood out. Mildly spicy at the start but the spice built up as you ate it. Duck tacos had a good mix with spicy green apple salsa and watermelon radish. It

AMAZING spot. A must visit. Great professional service. Rib eye and flank steak were to die for. Impressive cocktails. All around a fabulous place for a special occasion or casual dinner. The food was spectacular in every sense of the word, everything was paired perfectly. We will definitely be back!

The food was mediocre, and that’s being kind. Very expensive. Which would be fine but some of our dishes were actually inedible. I got the chicken and farro. The chicken didn’t have much meat on it and was slightly over cooked. While the farro that accompanied it was grossly overcooked. I did enjoy the tzatziki though, and the dry chicken greatly appreciated a sauce. My dinner companion ordered two entrees. The pasta bolognese tasted like elementary cafeteria spaghetti. Noodles were so overcooked and the sauce lacked flavor. Their second entree was the steak. The steak was requested medium rare and arrived to the table with no pink at all in the center, the steak was cooked grey throughout. They did send the steak back, as it was such a disappointment. The second steak served was much be

The food and drinks were amazing! Our server was phenomenal and gave us great recommendations. The only negative was the music being a bit too loud for our liking. The patio had plenty of room for several tables and it offered a nice alternative to indoor dining. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Bethel!
