Matapeake Clubhouse and Beach

Took my son to the beach the other day. I had never heard of this beach before, so I enjoyed our adventure. I'm not sure how deep the water is but we were able to walk about into the waves for a bit without it knocking us over and sitting in the water without it going over our heads. My son truly enjoyed himself and so did I. Parking sucks though. Not too many parking spaces, so you have to keep circling the lot until one becomes available. The park rangers got annoyed with folks who just sat and wanted to wait for someone to move from a space. They want the traffic to keep flowing.

Absolutely beautiful! Black sand from the local stones . Bathrooms that are well maintained and clean we were the only ones on the beach short walk from parking lot to water. Loved this beach !

Hubby and I visited here in the summer. I love this beach, the trees provide plenty of shade and it's fun watching the dogs fetch toys from the water on the dog friendly side. It was a perfect combination of peace and calm mixed with (after the dogs arrived) fun and laughter! It was also a wonderful alternative to our usual trip to Ocean City, because it was not near as crowded, we didn't need our beach umbrella, we were still able to listen to and watch the waves rolling in, and walk through the sand without it burning our feet.

This place is terrific!! Lots of parking, short walk to the beach. Plenty of shade, quiet & a breeze. They have restrooms & running water. There is a place to rinse off one’s feet of sand. Perfect & close to the DC area!

Great beach on the bay. It’s clean, quiet and free. a great place to sit in the sand with your toes in the water.
