Mad River Donuts

Outstanding donuts and coffee! Got the lemon glazed and looooove it. Delightfully surprised with the coffee! I haven't loved a lot of the local VT roasters, but Brio is new to me, and both offerings were superb!

I arrived around 8 in the morning excited to try their donuts and it was absolutely worth the 40 minute drive. The donuts are delicious with a more dense cakey like dough that's just different compared to somewhere like dunkin' donuts. They are filling that's for sure, and with a coffee or tea a very delicious treat. I highly recommend checking them out.

Mad River Donuts is a small shop with big creativity. The frosting and glaze flavors are delightfully unconventional — matcha, espresso, lemon, raspberry — but what makes them special is that they’re not just sweet novelties. Every one of them tastes genuinely good, and the frosting is applied generously enough to feel indulgent in the best way. If you’re lucky, you’ll visit on a day when they have bagels. Those are exceptional too — freshly baked, with a texture so good you can enjoy them plain, no toppings needed. A charming spot that clearly takes pride in doing things right.

The BEST donuts I have ever had in my life. They’re reasonably priced and the service is quick and friendly. I recommend the raspberry donut.

They're fine. Frosting is decent, but in boring flavors (anyone who thinks raspberry is "unconventional" doesn't seem to visit grocery stores), and the donuts themselves are overly dense and unremarkable. Also quite expensive for what you get. Not recommended.
