1824 House Inn + Barn

Dining options offered by 1824 House Inn + Barn are stellar, but brunch yesterday was something special. Once a month, they welcome non-inn guests to join them for à la carte Brunch service. What a treat!! Yesterday featured the Crab and Cracklin’ Bloody Mary which could have been breakfast all on its own. Sean’s Bloody Mary mix is perfectly balanced with horseradish, smoky salt, packed with veggies and crowned with a crispy stick of bacon and the most graceful crab leg to ever swim in a pint glass. That washed down a Crab Benedict with two perfectly poached eggs perched atop housemade crab cakes. Pretty sure my biennial crab intake limit was exceeded yesterday! My husband’s corned beef hash was devoured in minutes. The everything breakfast my dining companion enjoyed was served on a platt

My husband and I stayed overnight here, skiing at Sugarbush/Mt Ellen Thursday and Friday. Innkeepers are very gracious, room was large and amply outfitted with very comfortable bed, sheets, pillows. Location is excellent for the mountains. Breakfast was tasty, too. Lovely setting as well.

The 1824 House is without a doubt one of the best. Farrell and Sean run a fantastic place and cater to your every need. Their dining room is beyond fabulous. The ambiance is terrific, the view of the mountains looking out through the huge barn doors is just plane spectacular. And ,OMG, the food is exceptional, the service outstanding and the prices are reasonable. This place is a real find and MUST to visit or just for a great meal.

We were doing a little skiing and making our way North to grab our college kid for break. Ends up this was a wonderful place to stay in VT. Great vibe for people like us who love inns. Also, their restaurant is a must! Rooms are super quaint as one expects or hopes for in an in. Will look to stay again if making the same route in VT.

My partner and I stayed from 12/31-1/4. It was truly a lovely experience. Short drive to Sugarbush and the inn was amazing. We ate in the barn for breakfast and did one night for dinner and it was absolutely delicious!!!! Hosts were always available to help with anything. Looking forward to staying here next time we go up to ski! Thanks again!!!
