White Horse Lodge

White Horse Lodge was a perfect place to stay for two days skiing at Sugarbush. The lodge is just off the access road to Mt. Ellen. We were greeted by the kind caretaker upon arrival, but otherwise you come and go and may only see other guests. We really liked the small kitchen area with a shared fridge, free coffee and tea, microwave and toaster. It's nice for a quick breakfast or simple dinner. There are two comfortable shared spaces to hang out as well, a library with fireplace and a nice game room. The beds were very comfortable with the thickest comforters! Highly recommend staying here.

Not fancy, but comfortable and clean, a well run ski lodge, very good value. Modern rooms, communal kitchen with coffee always available. Perfect location at the base of Mt Ellen, convenient to Sugarbush (main) and Mad River Glen - I skied all three during my stay - and towns of Waitsfield and Warren. I’d definitely stay here again.

A true gem, right across the street from the Mount Ellen base area at Sugarbush Resort. From the road and entryway, it looks like a cute, quaint Nordic inn. It is welcoming from the first step you make inside, with the front desk with all sorts of handwritten welcome notes on faux chalkboards and goodies and treats surrounding it. The rooms are super comfortable, with warm, decorative blankets and pillows, a mini fridge, as well as quintessential Vermont décor (such as a painted cow wearing glasses). The rooms are quite spacious and warm. Some rooms even have a mini fridge. There are also some nice common spaces, such as a beautiful fireplace living room, game room, dining area, and large fridge, microwave, and coffee area, and even laundry. This is a great place to stay! It operates very smoothly on a light staff. Lots of honor system amenities that are kept well stocked. Room was very clean. The highlight of the place was certainly the coziness of the common areas. They have a beautiful lounge/library room with a big, warm gas fireplace and super comfy furniture. Also, an even larger game room. Both rooms are located appropriately just far enough off from the guestrooms that made it feel very inviting. I would definitely reccomend for most, my only hesitation would be if you have rambunctious children, as the floors and walls were not particularly well sound proof/sturdy and the rooms themselves are a bit on the small end.
