Nice Bavarian atmosphere and a fun spot in Leavenworth, especially for beer and people-watching. Service was friendly and portions were generous. Unfortunately, the Schweinshaxe didn’t really hit the mark for me — the skin wasn’t as crispy as expected and the meat was a bit dry/bland compared to how it’s traditionally done. Other dishes at the table were decent, but overall the food felt hit or miss for the price. Worth stopping by for the vibe and drinks, but I wouldn’t order the Schweinshaxe again.
The food was delicious ,importantly, offered fantastic value for money – a rare find these days! The most charming moment came as we were leaving, when the same server smiled and gave me the sweetest compliment, saying I looked lovely. the staff who create such a positive and joyful atmosphere. We will definitely be returning soon and look forward to my next visit
It tasted exactly like pre-packaged food. My friends and I went there based on online recommendations (which I now suspect were paid promotions or fake reviews), and the food was absolutely terrible... The so-called signature pork knuckle had skin as hard as plastic, and I won't even comment on the other dishes, as they might just not suit my taste. The chicken even had red streaks of blood when we opened it... The prices were also ridiculously expensive. The four of us couldn't finish the food, not because we couldn't eat that much, but because it was so incredibly bad. The service was also very mediocre. If Google allowed negative ratings, I would give it minus 100 stars. Avoid this restaurant at all costs!
Having been a resident of Germany for several years, I was interested in seeing if the experience could be replicated here in America. Ludwig's did a fantastic job with the platter for 6, making it easy to get a taste of just about everything all at once. There are even a few German beers on tap, and many more available in bottles; I got the liter of Hofbrau, and wasn't disappointed!
Good but a bit pricy. We decided to eat dinner outside. The service was nice, a little slow when it came to processing the check. The food was pretty good, but didn’t necessarily match the high price. Maybe because the restaurant is on Front Street. Overall good but not great. If you want to try a German meal in Leavenworth, give it a try.
