Knoxie's Table

Went for dinner on Saturday walk-in and got seated immediately, the food was delicious with nice presentations. Great lighting and atmosphere with professional services! They also have well decorated communal area from the Inn, especially during Christmas!

Knoxie’s always has the best appetizers and tonight was no different. We had the calamari and the lollipop chicken. Both were excellent! For the main course, I had the pork with potatoes au gratin and Brussel sprouts and it was prepared perfectly. We had probably the best table in the house...right in front of the fireplace; the service and atmosphere were fantastic! And afterwards we wandered through their huge courtyard, taking pictures by the Christmas decorations. We really enjoy going here.

It's been a while since we've been to Knoxies and we were disappointed during the last visit but that was a few years ago, so we thought we would give it another go and hit the bar for dinner. Unfortunately our experience left us uninspired and disappointed. First the good... The oyster chowder is tasty although a bit more potatoes than I'd like. I also almost broke a tooth on an oyster pearl that should've been caught before the meat was added. Secondly the filet was good, but $48 I expected more than 2 shrimp that were haphazardly harpooned to the top of the steak - so much for presentation. Service was attentive and friendly. Knoxie's Table was an absolutely delicious experience! I was very impressed with the use of local, fresh ingredients in creative ways. Everything I tasted was DELICIOUS, particularly the PEPPER JACK CREAM CORN. I can't recommend this dish enough- it's richly flavored without being heavy. Somehow, the corn remained crunchy, even in this creamed form. Fantastic. I had the STEAK FRITES and I was quite impressed with the cut of meat, its tenderness, and the perfect medium rare cook. The parmesan fries were actually the one disappointment for my meal- they were not crispy enough. I tasted my table-mate's PAN SEARED SCALLOPS risotto and the scallops were divine. We visited Knoxies years ago and were unimpressed. We decided to give it another try. What a difference. We had great service from the time we arrived until we left. Pleasant atmosphere. We had the butchers board and it was amazing. We were a small party of 5 and there was plenty for all. We also had the crusted tuna as an app and that was great. For dinner- crab cakes, NY strip, sea bass, and the chicken pasta. All were fantastic. Can't wait to go back. Our server Ashley was very personable and attentive.
