Jackson River Bakery and Deli

This place is awesome. We stopped in after seeing the sign on the side of the road and were wanting to eat at a local diner. The Jackson River Bakery and Deli did not disappoint!! I had the egg, sausage, bacon, and hash brown plate ($12.00), and my wife had the sandwich. Oh my, it was delicious. We had been eating camping food for a couple of days while staying in the Thorny Mountain Fire Tower (Seneca State Forest, WV), so this was just what we needed. The store also sells local items. Highly recommend!! Bring cash or check. No cards!! Skip through Monterey, and go straight to this place. Thank you to the workers and the families that make this place special.

Update: Breakfast served all day! Saw this place on my way over to Franklin and made a mental note. I stopped in on my way back. They have a deli counter for meat.....you can order prepared sandwiches and they have a grocery items. I bought a loaf of the white bread, a red raspberry fried pie, a cream stick donut and a bag of corn chips. The cream stick was AMAZING. The cream filling was perfect. The fried pie was very tasty. The loaf of bread was ENORMOUS and tasted great. The corn chips were corn chips. Cash and check only. Great place. Prices were very fair. They sell an amazing small building/tiny home in parking lot and also sell that colorful outdoor furniture that I love.

Stopped here after several missed opportunities, will never miss another stop. If you are a serious baker or just enjoy great, healthy products at realistic prices, don't miss Jackson River.

People here are very friendly! They have some well built outdoor furniture, baked goods and fresh meats!
