High's Restaurant

A charming establishment, great to stop off at on a roadtrip. The prices were a bit high..and the salad bar was nice, but you're only limited to one trip with a rather humble-sized plate. I'm surprised they wouldn't let you go twice. The sandwiches were tasty (but would to try the Grilled Trout Sandwich next time. The Fried was a tad oily). The burger was solid though- and the fries were REALLY good. Friendly service and lots of neat decor to take in.

The service and atmosphere here is wonderful, the interior really looks like you stepped back in time to a 1950's diner, and the staff is so nice. The food is incredibly satisfying as well, and you feel like it was cooked in someone's mother's kitchen. Get the Amish hamburger steak with gravy and mashed potatoes, so delicious! The lemon and berry cake for dessert is a must also!

My son and I visited this wonderful restaurant today for the first time and will be returning. The staff are very friendly and the food is delicious. Today we had the patty melt burger and High’s fries and the grilled cheese sandwich and Highs fries, my son ate his and a lot of mine haha. Afterwards the waitress was kind to make my son a special ice cream request and he enjoyed that as well. I will return, I want to try the trout and from the looks of two that were made in front of me, I will return to try a banana split as well. Please stop by here if you are in town and enjoy the rest of the quaint little town of Monterey.

The entrees were very tasty, but my wife and I were unimpressed with the sides. Not bad, but my guess is that most start with opening a can... For the price, I expected a more "home made" experience. The dessert was also delicious and my wife LOVED her milkshake! Servers were top-notch! I'd recommend you check them out, but pay attention to the prices on the menu when you order so you don't get surprised when you get the bill. I hope to get back someday to try the pie! It looked terrific!

First, I’m happy to report that my experience aligned with my friend’s raving of High’s Restaurant. After a few disappointments, food wise (while in this area), I finally had the pleasure to be truly satisfied with my experience of High’s Restaurant. Let’s start with the customer service here. At minimum, the rating for the service here is SUPERB. Our waitress was super kind, engaging, prompt, and warm. The food. The portions here are massive with great price points. I started with a cup of the Kickin’ Crab Soup, which was flavored fairly well. However, there wasn’t any crab chunks in the soup, which was a tad disappointing.
