While traveling, my hubby and I stopped in at 11:30 on a saturday. It was busy so we expected a bit of a wait. Hubby ordered a reuben with no cheese and I ordered a steak and cheese, the waitress did not write down our order. My steak and cheese was small and dry. Felt like they had just dumped the remains of an old prep pan into the bun and called it good enough. My hubbys reuben came out with cheese and we had to send it back. When the second one came out it was dry in the middle but the bread was soggy. The sourkraut was cold and there was just barely enough corned beef to make it a full meal. Our server left before we had finished our meal and did not let us know someone else was taking over our table. In all, a rather disappointing lunch. I would not stop again while travelling. Local
Cool little diner on the side of the street in bethel. Unfortunately it was ruined by really poor service and food. I went with a group of 8 and nearly every order was messed up in some way. The portions of meat and bacon where extremely stingy, the eggs I got where undercooked and inedible, the photo will not do it justice. The food was cold, which wasn’t helped by the waitress not giving us cutlery for about 5 mins after our food was served. Really disappointed with the food and the service, and I wouldn’t be leaving such a strong review if the waitress wasn’t so rude.
Personable staff. The homebaked whole wheat toast was devine. Good coffee. Very reasonable prices. Just beware that each change to the menu will cost over $1.
My friend and I waited an hour for a cold chicken sandwich with lays, and rubbery reuben with soggy fries, on a Tuesday, somewhere between 1/4 and1/3 capacity. Not pissed, more disappointed. But it seems to be the bethel way, everyone is used to tourists stuck with little options.
This place have the best burgers, crossroad burger is number 1,for my family, so yummy. We love the food and service. The corn chowder was not too good to me but everything else was exceptional. Our waiter Kijha was very nice, catered to our every need with a smile. Will come here every time I visit Maine. :)
