If you’re looking for authentic German food in Leavenworth, Andreas Keller is a must-visit. The atmosphere is fantastic—the "old school" decor and vibe really transport you. The service was excellent; the staff were both attentive and friendly throughout our meal. As for the food, everything was spot on. We ordered the Schnitzel Cordon Bleu, red cabbage, fried potatoes, and a Knackwurst sausage, along with a pretzel and German mustard. To top it off, the Hefe beer was easily one of the best I've ever tasted. I highly recommend stopping here if you want a fun environment and a great meal.
This was such an amazing accidental stop. My husband and I were getting hungry, happened to stop on the street, read the menu, and decided to head downstairs and immediately felt wrapped in cozy, low lighting and old-world charm. Our waitress was incredibly kind and helpful, which made the experience even better. I can’t have gluten, eggs, or dairy, and I was still able to enjoy the seasonal sausage with cold potato salad and sauerkraut, all of it was amazing. We also shared the fried potatoes, which were perfectly done. My husband ordered the schnitzel cordon bleu, served over spätzle with gravy, and absolutely loved it. To top it off, he had the Black Forest cake for dessert, which was such a treat not overly sweet, perfectly balanced, and honestly flawless. Everything about this meal
Worth the long wait. Great atmosphere and delicious food. If you are visiting in Winter, be sure to grab a glass of their spiced hot Cider. It absolutely hit the spot and felt so good after a day out in the cold. Two major things stood out to me. 1. If you get the breaded schnitzel, make sure to add a cream sauce on the side. Their cream sauce was out of this world amazing. 2. The entries are pretty straightforward and simple fare. I got a pork schnitzel and it came with potato salad. I wish they would have also given me a small side of something like cabbage/sauerkraut. The meal just seem to be lacking a small side dish.
My wife and I visit Bavaria several times per year to visit our daughter and her family, and I have no hesitation in stating that Andreas Keller serves dishes that are tastier and more generous portions than nearly any of the many restaurants where we have dined while in Germany. We had delicious, meaty, pork schnitzel with a crispy breading and heavenly cream sauce, served with freshly made spaetzle. A side dish of red cabbage was the best I have had anywhere. The schnitzel cordon bleu was equally spectacular, and there was a variety of sausages offered for those interested in wurste. Numerous German beers were available on tap or by the bottle, and the decor is so authentic that I forgot for a moment that we were in the Pacific Northwest and not in Bavaria. This is not a place to go for
Classic German Cuisine Will Leave You Satisfied! Not knowing our exact arrival time in Leavenworth due to a Thanksgiving snowstorm, we skipped making dinner reservations. No worries—I had already checked out Andreas Keller online and saw reviews saying walk-ins were usually doable. Sure enough, we stopped in, gave our name to the host, were handed a pager, and told the wait would be about an hour. Perfect—time to shop! When we returned, we were seated at the last table in the back near the small bar. Even though the restaurant was full, the location was ideal—we could actually hear each other and enjoy a real conversation 😉. Major kudos to our waitress, who mentioned she had driven over an hour in the snowstorm just to work the dinner shift. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely pleasan
