York Beach Dairy Bar

CASH ONLY!!! Delicious soft serve ice cream!! Tried vanilla, chocolate, and black raspberry hot fudge sundaes. So good!! The lines can be long but service is friendly and fast. Only downside is no seating unless you cross the street and sit on the sidewalk. Loved having ice cream after sunset every night during our visit!!

After a long day enjoying the beach at Long Sands in York, Maine, there is nothing better than getting a soft serve ice cream from the York Beach Dairy Bar. This old fashion ice cream store also has lots of other comfort foods to enjoy (not on a regular basis though). Just remember to bring cash, because even though the York Beach Dairy Bar is very reasonably priced, they are very old fashioned and only accept cash.

Walk-up ice cream stand right across from the beach. It's our go-to place to grab a cone or a cup and walk along the beach front. The service is always quick thanks to some hard working kids and an owner who is hands-on and the ice cream choices were many and varied. They close between 9 and 10 pm, but at that time York Beach has quieted down and there's plenty of parking right across the street. It's a nice post-restaurant option for a portable, "alfresco" dessert.

A fixture along Long Sands in York Beach for 50+ years. A great spot to get a quick bite to eat to bring back to the cottage or over to the beach. Delicious soft serve ice cream!

Their employees were very rude people. The ice cream they sold was not beautiful at all. I don’t understand why there is such a terrible shop on such a beautiful beach and why people gave such a high score. If I hadn’t promised my daughter, I would never have eaten anything from there. I doubt the cleanliness of their kitchen.
