Windsor Public Library

Windsor Public Library came into fruition in 1888. It opened to the public in 1889; in 1901, it moved to a new location. The location was home to a General and it was originally built in 1777. It's a large and beautiful library with plenty of parking. My children and I explored the ginormous children's room. There was a computer area, a train table, a puppet area, a toy kitchen, blocks, and games. There were plenty of places to sit. I love that they have self checkouts. The librarians were friendly. I've said it before and I'll say it again and again; the library is a great resource! It has events, programs, museum passes, and more. My children and I are library fans. Overall, it's definitely up there with one of my favorite libraries.

Very very beautiful library! It is so neatly organised. The children section is too good. I wish every town has library like this. The location is amazing too, right in the downtown. They have very cool stuff to borrow too like sewing machine, cricut press and many more things!

Some libraries in the same local library network have gone fee free. I did not know this library did not participate in this. We drove 20+ minutes for a few specific books and my son ended up getting a few more. His books were overdue before I realized and I promptly returned them once I realized my error. Weeks later my son tried to use his library card at the library closest to us that doesn’t charge fines and he was blocked from doing so. When I called this library I was transferred to the supervisor’s voicemail. When she returned my call she advised me she couldn’t waive any of the fees we received because they would have to do it for everyone? The fines totaled $46.40. 8 books x $5.80 each. My son and I love this library! The kids’ section is amazing, and Alex and Victoria, who work there, are always super kind and helpful. They always help us find any book or activity we’re looking for. Highly recommend 100%!

I love this place. Join the adult winter reading program now. You can park easily and they have an extended work hours.
