West End Inn on Pine Street was a comfortable stay while in Portland. It is in a historical area with many beautiful homes in this quiet neighborhood. We had the opportunity to stay in two different rooms: #2 for three nights in the beginning of our vacation. Our room was large and easy to spread out with a closet to hang our clothes. We had a king bed which was very comfortable. It had a bathroom with double sinks and a bath/shower. This room is on the second floor and the only access is the stairs; however that is clearly mentioned on the website. On our way back to Portland at the end of our vacation we stayed in room #1 on the first floor for our last night. It was much smaller with a comfortable queen bed and was absolutely adorable. There was also a private balcony that came with t

West End Inn is a lovely BnB in a quiet Portland neighborhood full of gorgeous old houses. The proprietor was very accommodating, letting me leave bags there prior to check-in time--- actually in my room, since it was empty. The breakfast was delicious, as was the coffee! One room is on the ground floor; the others require stairs.

It’s quite an old building, so if you’re the type who needs perfect fit and finish on everything it’s not for you. On the spendy side for sure but between the tomb quiet location and the phenomenal breakfasts I didn’t feel we had overspent. We didn’t move our car the entire visit because most of the touristy places are 30ish minutes walking at most and the Portland bus system was surprisingly reliable. Again, it’s an old building and has old building quirks such as creaky stairs and let’s call it “vintage” bathrooms but the common areas are lovely. We didn’t enjoy our time in Portland frankly but we did enjoy staying here

We stayed on the only first floor room in this grand old house and it had a nice open porch facing the street. The room was spacious, clean and nicely maintained as was the spacious bathroom with shower. Outside our room was the common area for all guests as well as tables and chairs for those eating snacks or the minimal offerings for a continental breakfast. Coffee and teas were always available, however, if you wanted a full breakfast you had to walk a block to their other B&B (Pomegranate). There was a breakfast menu with cold and hot offerings, all of which were delicious.

First time staying at a B&B and a good experience. Breakfast every morning and made to order. Fresh fruit served with each breakfast. Both Chefs did a good job and very accommodating. Older buildings and very well decorated and maintained. Our room,#4 was very nice and clean with daily cleaning. Very good experience!
