We did a small private ceremony here and stayed the evening. The owner was very nice and easy to talk to. The breakfast was very delicious and the hot tub was nice after a cold evening out. Given the price, a historic building built in 1780, it was well worth a romantic evening. The grounds were nice and quite, we will be staying here again.

I paid $270 for a night to host my mother in law and her sister. Their mom(my wife’s grandmother) had died just a few hours ago just upstairs from us. After the coroner arrived and handled affrairs, they couldn’t sleep in the building right where it happened. I thought a night away would help ease their nerves a bit. They did have a decent stay at wayside inn up until the morning when they were having breakfast. Checkout was at 11, but they were forced to leave at 10 am. The owner said “other people booked the room”. Mind you, they had another hour to go and was having a pleasant conversation with some other patrons, who were also forced to leave early. The owner/manager literally stood close by staring at them while they were rushed to finish their meal. People like this should not be in

We have traveled around a bit to several historic areas. Love the history of The Wayside Inn. Joe was a very nice man. Breakfast was good but the coffee cream curdled in my coffee. Most B&B's offer to go snacks, fresh baked goods, etc. The home needs major TLC. The grounds look beautiful on the website, but not in person. The upper deck was bare. No seating, no ambience. The decor throughout the home was disappointing. Looks very random. Beach signs, anime figurines, a santa doll, etc. Nothing historic. The bed and pillows in our room were terrible. We enjoyed the fireplace and jetted bathtub. Be sure to bring cash, and a lighter. Fire logs are an additional $12.00 and no lighter provided. Lots of cobwebs. You can tell that the owner wants to provide a great experience, but all in all, thi

What a beautiful bed and breakfast! The owner was very kind and informative and accomodated my husband's gluten allergy at breakfast.

This historic B&B is packed with history but in need of some general maintenance. While the room was charming, with a large sitting room (complete with working fireplace), it felt like it could use a good dusting. The decor was historic to some extent it did have some random modern touches that didn’t make sense. I swear each room had the most random holiday decorations that were left out all year long. I believe we had a mix of Easter and Christmas in our particular room. The grounds were disappointing and unkept. It’s obvious that the owner switched prior to our stay. The website needs an update to reflect the lack that is going on here or do an overhaul to get this place back to how it was. The food was not accommodating to plant based eaters as it mentioned on the site. I had a bowl of
