Owners Tammi and Eda have started something amazing and unique in Sacramento! The flavors are phenomenal, and the portions are generous. We've already gone twice (once dine-in and once takeout), and we'll definitely be back often. They typically offer 7 different items in each dinner box, which is a great way to sample Trinidadian food. This last time, we had breaded white fish, macaroni pie, rice, green salad, coleslaw, callaloo (this one was a purée of spinach, okra, and squash), and fried plantains. Everything was so tasty! The sponge cakes are an absolute must - both the regular sponge and the rum-soaked sponge. They also have whole loaves of bread available for sale, as well as Trinidadian drinks and a hot chocolate assortment. They recently added signage and improved tables for t
I can't get enough of this new Caribbean/Trinidadian spot...these ladies have me coming back for more every time. The curries and roti are delicious - I argue amongst the best in Sacramento. The doubles hit the spot for a vegetarian option. The mango that comes with the curry is so distinctive I can't say I've tasted anything like it. I recommend it highly!
Absolutely delicious mac casserole and rice, with a spinach pure and salad. Healthy real food. I also had a delicious sponge cake but it didn’t survive the car ride home l- it was wonderful with notes of coconut. Great food!
Hidden gem! I recommend if you’re thinking about it. Only downside is my dad who’s from Trinidad wouldn’t stop talking about how good the food was.
Eda and Tammi have provided Sacramento with food that is unique only to Trinidad. It is a special opportunity for everyone to enjoy and try! They are amazing people and chefs. Make sure to go and enjoy. You will probably go more than once, because their food is delicious.
