Wonderful atmosphere, lively vibes. Generous portions! Delicious Japanese brunch with a twist. Trey and Nancy was so accommodating to our party of 8. Will definitely come again to try the other menu items.

New ownership at this place. Breakfast/brunch here is amazing! If you like places like Butter & Bacon or Orphan.. Excellent customer service! I'm happy there's a Japanese restaurant right by my old neighborhood I grew up in. I was really surprised to see Shoku pan from Mahoroba in their dishes, I never woke up early enough to try the bread after college courses. It's nice and refreshing to see their unique menu. I'll need to go back and try it all out!

This place was so awesome! Everyone was so friendly and sweet as soon as you walk in. The food was delicious and flavorful. I would definitely recommend trying their loco moco! Shout out to Trey for being a great host as well :) 10/10!

Japanese Brunch Fusion? Yes please! Replacing Kau Kau is a new restaurant that is sure to please! Genki Kitchen is a new exciting brunch spot in its soft opening stage! Location: A stones throwaway awake from Sac State, although not a direct walk or drive. Genki sites between H and J street in a desirable area between East Sac and the campus. Many fond memories and a great spot for a brunch establishment especially with a unique and cool concept. Service: Genki Kitchen appears to be running a soft opening but that didn’t affect their service. Staff is great, friendly and warm. Owner Dan is a fun guy and is willing to talk to customers and talk about opening this place. Of course, YMMV with a new business and staff learning but things are looking good!
