Lin Dumpling

AMAZING! AMAZING! AMAZING! The food is OUTSTANDING and it is owned by a family. Came for a birthday and pretty much ordered one of everything. We had the pork and chive dumplings, pork soup dumplings, egg drop soup, honey walnut shrimp, beef and broccoli, orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken, pork fried rice, and garlic noodle with chicken and veggies! I can’t say enough good things about this place.

This is a MUST GO place. We went in V Day. We started with the soup dumplings (XLB) and, honestly, they were the best in Sac. Truly some of the best I ever had. Not overly sticky, plenty of juice without a bitter aspic after taste. Actually tasty broth and well seasoned meat. Even with the best XLB in Sac, the STAR OF THE SHOW was actually the Brisket Noodle Soup. The smell as it hit the table was next level. The broth was amazing. Nice chewy noodles. Super tender brisket chunks. Will absolutely order every single time I go. We also ordered the crispy fish in spicy chili broth. Fair warning: it is SPICY. I love spicy and it was *almost* too spicy. Delicious handmade dumplings and wontons! The pickled radish is excellent too! Presumably Ms/Mrs. Lin who was cooking came over to our table and discussed the dishes with us. Everything was fresh and delicious, will definitely be back!

The dumpling soup seemed bland at first but then when you bite into the dumpling and have some soup with it, it balances out beautifully. The staff were very kind and attentive. Their prices are reasonable. There was no wait time and the food came out fairly quickly. You can see them cooking and can see that it is clean. I did not use the restroom but they have one there if needed. Parking behind the building was difficult but there is plenty of street parking as well. I would come back.

Go to Lin Dumpling now! Their XLB are DELICIOUS, super thin skin with lots of meat. We all thought they were better than Tasty Dumpling. Pork chive dumplings were also very solid, especially with their home made chili sauce. The standout dish was the Sichuan water boiled beef, which they called Spicy Chili Broth. It’s authentic and amazing. There were sliced potatoes, Napa cabbage, broccoli, and zucchini inside. Not too salty with great depth of flavor. Others at the restaurant had the fish version which also looked great. But beware, it is SPICY. They’ve been open one week, and we will definitely be back.
