The Smith Steiner

Extraordinary place. Well-designed, meticulously decorated, and carefully curated. The best college town inn (or hotel) we have ever stayed in. The public spaces are wonderfully decorated and comfortable, the bedrooms amazing and the service friendly. And, the best location if you are visiting Dickinson. We can’t imagine a better place to spend a couple nights. All in all, a clear 10.

We were so impressed by the beauty of the Smith Steiner home. This house is impeccably designed and the owners did not miss a single detail. Located across the street from Dickenson Law School, many restaurants are within walking distance. Breakfast was made to order and was delicious! We would love to stay again!

The Smith Steiner is a beautiful place to stay. Go ahead, spend the money on the suite with the fireplace. It was absolutely beautiful. The accoutrements were first rate (linens, lighting fixtures, hardware, bathing products, etc). The breakfast was well done and comfortable. Planning to send my son to Dickinson, just so I can stay here frequently. How's that for an endorsement. Glad I skipped the hotel route. As a matter of fact, I borrowed their paint color for a room in my house. It's a beautiful place to stay.

My husband and I stayed here for my Birthday. The house is absolutely stunning. We felt very welcomed. Becky had a beautiful tray of snacks ready for us. The room and accommodations was amazing. Carlisle is a beautiful little town. We walked downtown and enjoyed a great dinner and drinks at some of the awesome restaurants there.

The location is perfect for visiting friends associated with the law school. Lodging is also perfect for remote work (their rooftop patio is divine) & wifi is great. Coffee machine is absolutely fantastic and grinds coffee at the time of request! Even with all the amenities, the very best of it all was the magnificent service, and the opportunity to meet Dolly and her baby brother Raymond (the pups that live in the back and I almost didn't get a chance too see). Their breakfasts are also delicious and nutritious (because who doesn't live the opportunity to rhyme?)... but also really decadent.
