The Parkmoor Drive-In

We were excited to try out this diner that has just recently opened in Webster Groves. Okay, it hasn’t opened that recently, but it’s a new restaurant to us because we moved away to Arizona in 2019. We stopped in for lunch on a weekday and the place was nearly empty. This place is cute inside. Very casual, with hints of forest green and burnt orange. Various seating options such as a bar, tables and booths. The first negative we experienced was the service. Our server said it was his first day, and I do understand. However, it took us 30 minutes to order food. Multiple other servers were sitting in a booth behind us chatting loudly, and didn’t once offer to help us. What an unexpected gem. While chasing a lifelong dream of traveling across the U.S. with no set timeline or destination, I stumbled upon The Parkmoor and couldn’t be happier that I did. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak with red-skin mashed potatoes, and not a single bite was left behind. Absolutely delicious. Just when I thought it couldn’t get better, the apple pie à la mode arrived. Incredible. A special thank-you to my server, Amy, who made the entire experience even better with outstanding service. I love the vibe of this place, and the decor was lively. The background music was nice too and I caught myself singing several times. The food was good and quick, and you can customize. Since it was my first time, I wanted to take a minute and really take in the menu, and while the wait staff was attentive.. My party felt rushed to make a decision on ordering. Once a party tells you they are new, my only observation is to let the new clientele take it all in and give them the space to do so. I’d recommend this restaurant still. 🫶🏽

We arrived shortly after breakfast had ended as a party of two and were greeted very quickly by a friendly young lady, which was a great first impression. Our waiter came over shortly after and seemed very relaxed, to say the least. Since breakfast was over, we decided to order the chicken and waffles—and they were amazing. The waffles were fluffy, and the chicken was seasoned to perfection. I requested a side of eggs, and so did my friend, and we were able to get them cooked exactly how we like them. Our waiter checked on us multiple times, which we appreciated—although it was very speedy, lol. When it was time to go, he brought us our checks, and the price for our meals was very reasonable. Large windows facing Lockwood make for a bright and open space. The king burger with cheese fries was good, as well as onion rings Also has a few sidewalk tables. Don't forget dessert! Pro tip: best chocolate shake in town!
