The Local General Store

Somebody in this store went to serious pastry / culinary school. My gosh I have never had such scrumptious pastries here on Oahu like they have here. Their meat pies are excellent!!! No wonder they run out so fast. I wish they had more space to sit and enjoy your pastries with maybe a wider variety of coffees. But for what it is right now, it’s perfectly fine. Get your pastries and take it to go enjoy wherever you want. They didn’t have the meat pies when I went this morning, so I don’t have a picture of it.

I had to check this place out! Someplace that’s doing things differently and well. The chocolate croissant was perfect, light and flaky. I tried their sandwich of the day, roasted chicken with pickled onions which was good and a pretty good size. The butcher part of the shop carried many cuts that you wouldn’t find in a regular supermarket, as well as a refrigerator of premade items, such as bone broth. Definitely premium-priced. Street parking.

Lots of fun to explore everything. Many people coming and going. Lots of cooking advice and explanations, fun! Amazing bakery plus local meats is genius. The highlights were the char siu manapua and the croissant. We purchase some meat, kalua pork rilette and scratch made spam. I highly recommend you try this out. We enjoyed our bakery items with coffee and went to the beach with the meat. Seating at the windows. Spaces were clean, parking was slightly difficult. The have seating at the windows with five stools and benches outside.

The Local General Store was everything our friends had hyped it up to be. A local butcher shop that’s pumping out one of the best breakfast sandwiches you will have. They don’t have options you just order what it is for the day which I enjoyed. Place your order at the counter about a 10 minute wait for your sandwich. 4-6 bench seats along the window but very much a to go place. Loved they put it in a box for me so they traveled well. The place itself is just a butcher shop which was bustling and I enjoyed watching people order things and hear chatter about how this of that was so good I had to come back. Now onto the sandwich, the bread is incredible not sure what kind or who makes it but I want more of the soft but sturdy bread to stand up to the sandwich. The meat of the day was a link s

I visited this bakery after a trip to Daily Whisk Matcha across the street, and their baked goods were the perfect addition to my drink! I ordered their double chocolate banana bread and a spinach-mushroom danish (forgive me for forgetting the bakery’s name for it), and they were both absolutely delicious. A lot of the time, bakeries make their goods either way too dry or too oily, but that wasn’t the case for The Local General Store, so I definitely recommend!
