The Dinner Bell

I love this place. Was referred here after KFC closed and was told that DB chicken livers were amazing. They ARE! So today, I treated my coworker and myself to lunch with a pickup order. The ladies at the register were great, we got back to the office and my coworker said her broccoli casserole was burnt. She did not eat it. Her hamburger steak was great. I got fried okra. As you can see from the picture, it is barely breaded and is burnt as well as super greasy. I could handle my broccoli rice casserole except for the stems that were in it which are like trying to eat trees. Definitely not our best experience here. We will be back, but hope that the food is just a little bit better the next time. I am sorry to complain, but we were definitely let down today. The good thing is

If you grew up going to Grandma's house for breakfast, lunch or dinner, you will recognize the satisfying taste of meat and vegetables...always ending with a little taste of sweet. Big, tender biscuits in the morning, pots and pots of rich, flavorful coffee or hor tea, and wait staff who treat you like favorite family home for a visit.

Jack’s Dinner Bell is a wonderful spot for delicious, home-cooked meals. Their meat-and-three options are always satisfying, and the menu offers a great variety of dishes to choose from. The restaurant may be small, but it’s warm and welcoming, with a friendly and attentive wait staff. Prices are budget-friendly, and portion sizes are just right. The breakfast menu is exceptional—everything tastes like it came straight from grandma’s kitchen! My only wish is that they would offer dinner hours all week and serve the meat-and-three option in the evenings. Overall, a charming and homey place that’s perfect for breakfast and lunch!

This is a great little restaurant in downtown Clanton, Alabama. We were passing through and decided to stop for breakfast. I thought the food was excellent and very affordable. Great breakfast.

Great food, great service. We stopped in on our way home to Athens,AL and it was well worth it.
