I recently stayed at this charming Bed and Breakfast and absolutely loved it. I had one of the smallest rooms (I was by myself), but it was perfect for me. I was comfortable and relaxed and got some much needed rest. The continental style breakfast is a nice refreshing touch and allows for some great socialization. I love the charm of the old houses in Provincetown. I can tell that Mauricio does care about his guests and wants to create a serene relaxing environment. I will definitely return.
A disappointing experience with management more concerned with policy than their guests. I made reservations with Peter at The Captain's House in March, 2023 and was greatly looking forward to my one week stay with my partner. Our plans were unexpectedly changed when my grandfather died about three weeks prior to the stay and we had to handle the funeral during part of our scheduled stay. ||||First, we requested a trip alteration which was denied because of their strict adherence to their six day minimum policy. ||||Second, we agreed that if they could rebook the nights we could pay $100 for their trouble. Yet they would not cooperate in providing a refund that AirBnB would accept to refund AirBnB service fees which were over $20". Even after they rebooked our room! ||||Ultimat
I stayed here awhile ago and it’s no frills and I mean NO FRILLS. I expected that for the price but location was good. I kept reading reviews talking about the breakfast. The muffins, banana bread, the GRANOLA. So at least I was looking forward to that except when I went down there was NOTHING left! There were only a few ppl staying there and somehow they didn’t bother to make enough for everyone. No apology just offered the bottom of the coffee pot to me and yeah the coffee was lousy. I would only stay here if you’re desperate and have literally NO other options.
This is a low-cost option so we were expecting basic accommodations (e.g., tiny room, shared hallway bathrooms, cheap and dated towels and linens). However, we were not expecting an old, uneven mattress that was uncomfortable to sleep on or a creaky bedframe on the verge of collapse. The hosts were unfriendly and told us that we were using the bathroom too many times each day. Despite having lots of space in the building, they also don't allow guests to leave bags after checkout, which is annoying if you are changing accommodations midweek, waiting for the ferry, etc.||||The location and the price are great. Nothing else is.
Had a wonderful 5 night stay! Room was comfortable, location was excellent, and hosts were very accommodating! I never had to wait for the shared bath even though the place was at capacity. I highly recommend it! The smell of the homemade granola baking one evening was fabulous, as was the personal breakfast I received as the sole guest on my last morning!
