Sushi Roku Palo Alto

Went for their Lunch special, was quite tasty. Fish was fresh and they recommended the amberjack that I got more of since it was ever so flavorful. I was the only one in the restaurant at the time so the service was impeccable, same with the manager occasionally checking in on me. The inside and outside seating options are quite accessible as well! The lychee sorbet at the end was groundbreaking. I love the use of jellies and the flavor was on point. Had to get more in the end as well. I'll be back when I visit, a bit pricy but I'd highly recommend! Bark!~

Probably my least favorite Sushi Roku. I was last at the Vegas location and the service and food were spectacular. Here the service is slow and not friendly. The food seems off compared to Newport Beach and Las Vegas. The white lotus roll wasn’t the same as the Las Vegas location and tasted bland. My salmon nigiri was fresh but the rice ‘fell apart’ when I tried to dip it in the soy sauce. I hate that when a sushi restaurant doesn’t have the right rice stickiness. Bartender didn’t seem enthused about working. Probably won’t be back to this location.

We don't like Senshi Roll, because they used Ground Yellow Tail, but not the whole pieces of fish meat. And it is $23, so small roll, not worth. And we will not ask Oscar to serve our table next time we come. Because he treated us differently than the other caucasian couple. Even for the to-go bag, he only gave us the white bag, but gave the Caucasian couple the special bag. After we were questioning him why we had the different bag from that Caucasian couple had, then he gave us the special bag. But he still didn't put our to-go item into the special bag, we needed to do it by ourselves. The Entree of Salmon is very good, Fried Chicken and Vegetable Tempura are very good, too.

The food and service were beyond exceptional here! My other half reserved the sushi bar for our anniversary dinner and the entire experience from start to finish was extremely memorable and special. The restaurant had printed out a really cute "happy anniversary" card for us, they surprised us with glasses of champagne, and a super fun and delicious dessert at the end. The entire staff was amazing and so attentive, but the two people who stood out the most and made this experience particularly memorable were David (our server) and Delene (the manager). David was the absolute sweetest, he provided excellent recommendations, and went above and beyond for us. Delene also went above and beyond for us, personally brought us extra treats, and just overall brought a positive and uplifting vibe.

Had an amazing experience here and cannot wait to come back. All of our food was amazing. The brussel sprout chips, hamachi serrano, sea bass skewers … If I were served these items at a Michelin star I wouldn’t bat an eye. Very nice flavor profiles all throughout. I’d recommend to those who come to maybe skip out on the sushi / sashimi and try their small plates. They are truly unique and special. Decently pricey place, though worth it in my opinion. I don’t mind paying when the food is good.
