Sunrise Restaurant Hawaii

A small unassuming restaurant with home style cooking. Solid sushi with heart warming dishes. The Okinawa soba is a little gingery but it was great. Consider reserving though given the small size, which I think you have to call.

I was recommended this restaurant by a friend of mine, who told me it is a nice, quaint family-run Okinawan restaurant. This establishment did not disappoint. The female partner of the couple who owns the restaurant was very kind to my family and me. I appreciated the atmosphere of this place too. It was a great interdiction to Okinawan food. Aloha!

We ordered the Pork Bitter Melon, Big Feet Soup, Sushi Combo, and Yaki Soba — everything was delicious! What stood out the most, was the warm hospitality of the owners. They were incredibly kind and welcoming. I accidentally left my purse behind, and they kindly kept it safe for me. It’s a small, cozy restaurant with a lot of heart. Highly recommend!

Exactly as charming as all the other reviews state! The atmosphere is so nostalgic, the food is really great, and it's a really cozy spot that I could see myself going to semi-regularly. Everything was delicious, but we especially enjoyed the dynamite salmon (we re-ordered another portion cuz the first was gobbled up so fast), the fresh sushi, the bitter melon stir fry and the hamachi collar :)

Really good food. Highly recommend combination with special miso soup and stir fry. Would definitely come here again. Reservation is recommended.
