Had the veggie platter at the Portland jazz fest in cathedral park, waited over 20 minutes to get it which I didn't mind at all until I opened the plate. No seasoning at all, not even salt, just frozen peas and carrots with white rice for $20. The samosas were seasoned well and tasted great, but were overcooked. Just look at the picture and you'll see what I mean. So disappointing and extremely expensive for 0 flavor.
The tropical smoothie with mango and pineapple (vegan) was so refreshing on a hot day and the spinach wrap with grilled shrimp was so flavorful and fresh! Thanks to the friendly owners as well, who helped with recommendations. My meal was out quick and tasted delicious. I’m so glad I tried something new today at the 82nd carts!
I hate to share my experience, but I truly want to see this business do better because their food and customer service are rather good. I paid a hefty $16 plus $2 tip for a plate of four chipati chicken tacos that looked amazing, but sadly when I bit into them were mostly filled with cabbage and some sort of mango salsa. My brother agreed there was barely any protein in the tacos and I thought so as well. It was so disappointing and honestly I felt like they stole my money! And expected a tip too!!! I really don’t think I’ll be eating at this food cart ever again.
I ordered Nairobi chicken. As soon as the chicken and spices hit the grill, I could smell the deliciousness from outside of the food cart. My tastebuds were not disappointed. I am doing a low carb diet, so skipped the rice and got extra salad. The flatbread smelled great, though I didn’t eat it (diet). I hope our paths cross again. I would love to eat here again.
The customer service is amazing!! The food is even better!! Today we ordered the tacos and samosas. I'd eat here everyday if I could!!!
