Scallions

I wanted to try a new place in Saratoga for lunch. Searched on google maps and found Scallions. Seeing their pictures of dinner plates I wanted to try them out. Unfortunately when I got there they only were offering their lunch menu with more lighter options. Still very hungry I stuck around. I’m so happy I did because I had one of the best salads. It was the “Citrus Duck Salad”. It had a great combination of flavors and the duck was cooked perfectly. The service itself was amazing as well. They almost had a full house and the waitstaff were very quick and polite. I would definitely come back and next time try their dinner menu.

Tonight my daughters treated me to a retirement dinner, I picked this restaurant because of the choices they offered, I was delighted with my choice. I very much appreciated the variety offered, indications of which menu items were gluten free, the portions were very satisfying, an everything was delicious. My whole family thanks the staff who were all very kind, professional and attentive.

The decor here was charming! Food so fresh and very good. There were many items on the menu we wanted to try so will have to go back again. Friendly waitstaff and attentive, but not overly so.

Overall the food was good. We ordered vegan items, in my opinion, the dishes are a bit overpriced as the portions were small. The falafel could be bigger pieces. The fried green tomato was worthy. The wild mushroom dish was plain as was the presentation. As one who forages for wild mushrooms, I expected more. The fritter dish was very flavorful yet the fritters themselves were slightly dry. I can see people going for the ambiance. Before being seated, we were pretty much ignored as service was slow at the door. Table service was good.

We stopped in on a whim for a late lunch. The place has a folk art kitchy vibe. Out waitress was attentive. Hubby got the fall salad & i got the crab cakes and greens. We shared a warm baguette. Everything was delicious. They have a cocktail menu, full bar & canned beers. Prices are reasonable. We perused the dinner menu & we will venture back.
