Customer Reviews
Lovingly restored Victorian home in the heart of Lancaster, within walking distance to a vibrant downtown. Audrey, the owner is so pleasant and accommodating. The breakfasts, made and served by Ken were top notch!. Can't wait to visit again, reconnected with an old classmate and enjoyed spending time with the other guests on the front porch. All the rooms are clean and charming.
We were in Lancaster, NY to see a show at Lancaster Opera House. Sassafras B&B is within walking distance so it made perfect sense. The accommodations in this well-maintained Victorian are good (updated bathrooms in every room), the people are friendly and the breakfast was delicious! Cost was very reasonable as well.||As for Lancaster, if you’re looking for a weekend in a town right out of a Hallmark movie, this is it. I was surprised we didn’t bump into the guy who comes back from the big city to save the family business and falls for the pretty librarian. I digress.||Sassafras and Lancaster Opera House made for a great weekend getaway.||Sassafras B&B gets an A+ for sure.
There is so much to say about this little gem of a b&b. Audrey's great handled everything perfectly over the phone. Kenny makes the best breakfasts! There's a fantastic classical library which you can relax inside very comfortably or out on the porch if it's a nice day. My room was perfect I got lucky and had a street view. This is definitely my go-to place when I come back to my childhood home for visits.
On Broadway in Lancaster, NY it is very conveniently located. It is two houses down from the library, immediately next to a church, a short walk from Frosty’s, the local iconic soft serve establishment, a short walk from the downtown business district with its shops.|The building is on the National Register of Historic Buildings. It is a Victorian era house. Inside is decorated with a variety of local themed art. |The room we had was large, had an en suite bathroom. The bed was comfortable and large enough to accommodate my 6”3’ frame. We spent a short time on the balcony watching the traffic go by. The common areas are comfortable.|Breakfast was different each day and very tasty. Items were adjusted to accommodate my need for gluten free food.|The innkeeper is very friendly, keeps on top
Spent a wonderful weekend while up for my class reunion. Audrey was a terrific host and only outshone by Kenny the cook who treated us to his culinary delights with every morning breakfast!
