Sam's Cafe

Simple, cozy diner with delicious breakfast options. Service was friendly and we enjoyed everything we ordered (huevos rancheros and clam chowder). Fresh and great quality ingredients. I would come here everyday if I could! They offer fresh squeezed orange juice too, which is a nice surprise from the regular OJ that comes from a machine at most other diners.

Great chowder. Can really taste the potatoes, clams, bacon and celery. Rich creamy base. Exactly what a classic chowder needs to be. Warm buttered French bread comes with it, instead of the packaged crackers. Nice. Sleep cafe with service to match. Very modestly priced. Will come again.

Great service! Prices are above average, probably reflecting the tourist area of HMB. Food itself was good, though portions were smaller than expected. Not as good of a value as previous reviews suggest. Will try another diner in HMB next time.

Half moon bay is a beautiful town! Sam’s cafe wasn’t bad, it was more or less that the menus have a different price than what you actually pay. The crepes my friend got, they were supposed to be 14.99 and she was charged 18.99 and although it’s not a huge difference it does damper the mood. My meal was also uncharged. The prices also just don’t match the portions, my food was WELL over cooked. Service was good and fast I will say. I don’t think we will return.
