River Edge Public Library

Family oriented library. One of the crown jewels of River Edge that makes a great town. Excellent library for students to do their homework away from home. Very friendly staff.

I want to use this opportunity to share my memorable experience with the staff of this library. On the 17th Dec 2024 evening, I made calls to about ten libraries in NJ, seeking a quiet library where I could have a follow-up residency training virtual interview the next day 18th Dec, at 7 pm, after my exam that very day. Only this library out of ten could assure me of a quiet place to use. On my arrival at 6:30 pm on 12/18/24, I met two amazing ladies at the front desk who made me feel comfortable and happy. They provided a quiet place for my interview and went above and beyond to wait till the end of my meeting session at 8:04 pm, which was a little past their closing time of 8:00 pm. Thank you so much and I am grateful for all your assistance. I recommend this library to anyone looking

What can I say about the River Edge Library? This place is iconic. A cornerstone of our little town, home of the pizza hut reading challenge, with new and classic books alike, and even a new magazine reading section. I grew up hand-in-hand with the library, and often found myself spending hours in the AC to get away from the summer heat, reading through Hardy Boys or the Fear Street Saga. This place is forever tied to my childhood and I’m just so grateful that it still exists.

Small but well maintained public library. Many tables but space is too open for quite, undisturbed work. There is a decent children's section but it is not separate from main library area. Nice meeting rooms available for free with advance reservation.
