Red Hill Bed and Breakfast

We had a delightful two days with our adult daughter, her husband and family friends. "Chef," the chef and the proprietor of the inn was incredibly hospitable. He was also fun as he regaled us with bits of local lore on occasion.|The tasty breakfasts were plentiful and were served with champagne that made us feel pampered. Our one dinner at Red Hill defies description. The pumpkin used for delicious pumpkin soup came from the garden outside the kitchen door 30 minutes before we ate it. The filet beef and lamb chops were cooked to perfection, as were the accompaniments. This was our first visit to Red Hill B & B, but definitely not our last! Our best inn experience to date!

My husband and I recently celebrated our anniversary with a Nelson County wine and food tour, so we decided to book a two-night stay at Red Hill Bed and Breakfast. Our experience with Herbert was truly wonderful! From the moment we arrived, he greeted us warmly, offered us drinks, and invited us to relax in the cozy sitting room. Herbert shared stories about the home's history, making us feel instantly at home. The accommodations were cozy, providing the perfect retreat after a day on the road. World class cuisine is hiding inside this gem of a historic bed and breakfast. My wife and I have travelled across five continents, and the food and hospitality we discovered in Lovingston, VA at Red Hill rivaled the best destinations we've ever been to. The meals far exceeded our expectations and "Chef" the owner went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The historic home was comfortable and full of charm, and we enjoyed learning about its rich history. The trail around the property takes about 30 minutes to hike and follows the river around two of the fields beyond the old barn. My husband and I were looking for a B&B to stay at while we snowboarded at Wintergreen. WOW! What a gem Red Hill is! This B&B sets itself apart with its chef/owner Herbert and his supreme cuisine and hospitality! My husband and I were blown away by the dinner and brunch experiences, all tailored to our preferences with delectable surprises to boot. We really enjoyed talking with Herbert throughout the experience as well. The Bird Room (2 twins) was great for us since we are both light sleepers - very quiet and private setup, modern bath with double sinks en suite, black out blinds, ceiling fan, comfy mattresses. It was easy enough to push the beds together kind of like a cruise ship will do but still have the more restful experience of not feeling the other toss and turn. The ambiance o
