Chicken Coop

I travel a lot this place has better service AND FOOD!! Than 90% of the fancy city places 10/10 all around

Never did I ever think I would be having a sit-down dinner in a gas station but here we are. This was our first time traveling through this area and restaurants were few and far between. We saw a sign for the Chicken Coop and I looked them up online to view their menu. Fried chicken and fresh vegetables sounded good to us so we stopped. It was really good.

I had a burger from here a couple of years ago and I remembered it being expensive, but really good. I got one today with a can of soda and it was 12 dollars. The burger had been cooked to death and was about two thirds the size of what they used to be. It's not worth the money anymore. The place has turned onto a game parlor as well. Lots of people on slot machines.

We stopped by there on our way home from Natural Bridge when there was nothing else around to eat because of New Years Day closings. I got chicken and my husband got a Turkey and cranberry wrap. The cost of the wrap was a little much…$11.49 but the cost of eating it was way worse. Husband only ate 1/2 of the wrap, luckily because by the time we got home 3hrs later he had food poisoning. Nothing else to eat before the Chicken Coop, nothing else afterwards. Went down hard and has just now gotten to a point where he feels human again. I called yesterday to give them a “heads-up” so they would know to maybe throw out the turkey and cranberries but unfortunately the young lady I spoke with was unconcerned. Just be careful of what you eat at gas station restaurants.

Stopped here on a whim. Was not disappointed. Very good chicken and sides. I wasn't expecting that from chicken at a gas station. They were busy for a reason. Mac and green beans were awesome as well. Plan to stop here again when we're traveling through.
