Provincetown Public Library

The Provincetown Public Library is an aesthetic as well as educational attraction. The grounds are well kept and inviting and the welcoming area features hardwood stairs leading up to the Rose Dorothea schooner model on the second floor. There is a wide selection of books, audiobooks and other media throughout the library as well as public computers. A bicycle rack is available near the corner of Center Street and Commercial Street and the library is a short walk from the bus stop at MacMillan Pier.

All the people here are super nice, and knowledgeable about books. All recommendations they give are very good, and the kids section is also great. The environment is really nice, and I could send DAYS there!

Incredible library for kids! You go up on the fancy staircase and…WHAT? A full size sailboat awaits in this welcoming library. Beautiful, vast selection of children’s books in a playful environment. Worth a visit with your little ones.

If you’re in need of a public restroom while strolling Commercial St, come here because there are clean public restrooms available on every floor. While you’re at the library, be sure to check out the Rose Dorothea boat model. The model and the informational signs around it were very interesting. You’ll need to be a Massachusetts resident to get a library card and take out books, but this library is a great pit stop for visitors too!
