Philemon House Bed & Breakfast

My husband and I stayed at Philemon House for two nights while we were at a family event in Elizabeth City. Melonie and Greg were so warm and hospitable. Their home was decorated so beautifully for Christmas! The banana nut muffins were absolutely wonderful! Such a cozy stay! I would definitely recommend it!

We were in Elizabeth City for a wedding and booked the Philemon B&B for 3 nights. The house is mid-century, charming, and welcoming. It is spotless, comfy beds, nice towels and hosts that are top-notch. Melanie and Greg are engaging and accommodating to the needs of their guests. We took advantage of the breakfasts and gourmet coffees and the food did not disappoint. I highly recommend the Philemon B&B. (There are a number of welcoming features that I did not mention, but needless to say they made my daughter and I glad we booked!) We will be return customers.

We stayed at this marvelous bed and breakfast for 2 nights and it was heavenly! Melanie and her husband Greg went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Room was large and bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. Melanie also offers an impressive selection of specialty coffees. My husband and I stayed recently at the Philemon House B&B. It truly is a special place. Our room was beautiful, the common areas are charming, and the food was incredible. We had not only a homemade breakfast daily but were welcomed to dine with the family for dinner nightly, which was a special treat! The hosts made us feel right at home. Melanie & Greg have fine-tuned the art of the traditional B&B in a way that is truly refreshing! We can't wait to find ourselves back for another stay!

My husband and I attended the Chocolate Breakfast event. And when I say chocolate, I mean it! Starting with a fresh fruit parfait in a light chocolate almond sauce to get those taste buds geared up, to chocolate dipped bacon, homemade fluffy biscuits topped with a family secret chocolate gravy and knock your socks off crepes! Not only did we leave with happy full bellies, we made new connections. As we sat around a cozy communal table, snug from the wood stove, we shared stories as we sipped decadent coffees topped with whipped cream and candy topped hot chocolates.
