Customer Reviews
Pearl's is a delightful and historic downtown diner, conveniently situated on a corner. During our visit, there was ongoing construction, which likely made parking more difficult than usual. The interior is charming and boasts a classic appeal, featuring an abundance of beautiful woodwork. We placed our food order at the counter and then located a comfortable spot to sit, with both booths and tables available. The staff members are exceptionally welcoming and helpful, and many of them are part of the family! Since the food is prepared fresh, there is a slight wait, but it is undoubtedly worthwhile! We shared a "Meat + 2 Sides" meal, which included dark meat fried chicken, fries, and okra. The chicken was exquisite, the fries were subtly seasoned, and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire bowl of
The food was wonderful. The service was great. We really enjoyed our meal here. I ordered the porkchop, Mac and cheese fries and corn bread. My husband ordered the fried chicken, fried okra, fries and corn bread. We had split the banana pudding for dessert. Everything was delicious. I know we'll definitely eat here again if we're in Laurel.
Found this place on our travels. Apparently its an icon in Laurel so we thought we try it. Super busy. Waited a long time in line. Staff were nice and to the point. They didnt dilly dally around when it came time to take your order. It’s helpful if you know what you want before getting to the counter to order. The food was ok. Was it the best I’ve ever had? No. Was it good enough to rave on and on about? No But it was ok. Might need to try it again sometime.
This was an ok place to eat our lunch. We ordered our food at the counter, found a sest and waited for our food. It wasn't very long, maybe 15 - 20 minutes. The food was good. I had fried chicken, beans, and boiled cabbage. The decore was a corner store type building from the 1930's. It doesn't look like it has been remodeled since then. It was clean but didn't feel clean because of the dark wood. The men's room also very dated and it seemed clean. Our family had a good time here. However, I'm not sure that I'd be really fast to go back. I'd have to try some of the other places in Laurel Mississippi.
This is such a special place. It’s only open 3 hours a day and I can see why. They have some of the best fried chicken I think I have ever eaten. Their sweet corn and banana pudding is out of this world. Everything was great but these 3 things I would eat everyday if I lived there. I got to meet Ms. Pearl’s sister who was so nice. I bought her cookbook so let’s see if I can copy hers. All the employees were so friendly.
