Oscar's House Bed & Breakfast

We love this place; the only reason we haven't stayed there for each year we've gone is because they were all booked up the once. I've already made a point to book for next year. Robin and Chad are so kind and welcoming, breakfast is delicious, and it's walking distance from everything on this end of the island. They even have a private outdoor shower for when you come back sandy from the beach. There's a little back deck too, and a common room. It's clean, well kept, and so cute. This used to be the lighthouse keeper's house! He's still around, sometimes, but Captain Joe is one of the friendliest ghosts on the island.

Hurricane Dorian greatly impacted the island, but Oscars Place has rebuilt and is in beautiful condition. We had a really enjoyable stay with the wonderful owners, their delicious breakfasts and such great accommodation and conversion. Centrally located, charming, and all the amenities. The beds are brand new and very comfortable, the new kitchen is gorgeous, as is the rest of the house, and the owners were able to provide insight on good food finds and sights to see. They were also very considerate for safety during this pandemic. We took the free cruiser bikes all over the island and didn't need our car at all. Highly recommended!

We were booked for one night over Easter weekend. However, there was a nor’easter brewing just south of the island and the ferry to Hatteras was shut down for nearly three days. We came over from Hatteras on our bike and left the car in Hatteras so needed to get back to continue our trip. Chad and Robin were extremely accommodating and let us stay another two nights at a discounted rate. Once the ferry opened up on Tuesday, they quickly drove us and our tandem bike up to the ferry landing to make sure we got the ferry before another shutdown. They could not have been more accommodating! The breakfast each morning was delightful and allowed us to use the private living room all Monday during the storm! We can’t wait to return to Oscar’s House on our next trip to Ocracoke. Our room was spacious, spotless, comfortable, and really did feel like home. The proximity to everything else in the village was amazing! The outdoor shower was AWESOME and breakfast was delicious - extra thanks to Robin and Chad for so thoughtfully taking dietary needs into consideration. This is truly the perfect place to stay on a perfect summer vacation!

We spent a fabulous two nights at Oscar’s. The proprietors were responsive, friendly, helpful, and cooked a great breakfast. The other guests were fun to chat with, and the accommodations were perfect for a beach getaway (free bikes, outdoor shower, great AC).
